About Me:
Retired, live on Lake Fort Gibson in East Oklahoma. I'm quiet but love loud big bands, and jazz in general. Grew up in Chicago in the sixties and saw most of the jazz greats play. MJQ and many others. Like good people who are simple and honest. Small house near the lake with 2 acres of weeds, flowers and my dog Libby an English Springer Spaniel. Fish when I can, nothing special, relaxed and easygoing. Ilike to read, converse, and watch my animal friends play in the yard. Living next to a federal game reserve makes walking a pleasure. Gardening is my hobby, flowers and such. Sometimes when I plant something it actually grows!
I try to keep my feet on the ground and haven't met a cat or dog I did not like! Of course that includes most people too!

Wouldn't it be great!

Folks, my name is Richard Frank, I'm probably older than most all of you, except the lady in New York City who celebrated her 80th birthday, or the gentleman I saw online who was 92 years old. I'm in my 60s, lot of life to go. I was born and raised in Chicago and had an opportunity to watch some of the jazz greats in person. Oscar Peterson, Ramsey Lewis, and so on. I love jazz and I love to talk about it. Jazz is the only medicine where you can take a five minute session and go from down to… Continue

Thank you for your comment Richard. I have also added you as a friend.Sounds like I'm much older than yourself , I grew up in the fortys and 50s,Stan Kenton Benny Goodman and those guys. Use to live in Mass. but now have moved to southern Florida , been here for 41 years now.Retired (of course) and living here with wife and myself plus old vynal records and many CDs. My daughter who is perhaps your age resides in Talahassee with her husband and three children. I like all jazz but kind of lean in the direction of West Coast jazz. Most of my days are spent on the computer ,reading or listening to some jazz.
Your flowers and your home are very pretty .Your flowers?? is that a result of your hobby---if it is darn good job. Our only pet is a doorstop shaped like a little dog--(haha)
Got so many wires around the house --was always afraid to get a pet.Plus it's very hot in Florida
I've been to OK. but only via comp.---Earth cam takes me to places I could'nt aford on Social
Enjoy your time sounds like you are.

Hey Richard--Got your response last night.I too have been married for 42 years. My wife is so looking forward to retirement, she has just about a year left of working. She works in a hospital surgery area in the clinical part of it .charging schuedling and the like. Does like the work and the people around her.But day in and day out----she's getting tired. Going to be awful hard paying for our meds. when she retires , but thats what a lot of the American public are having to contend with in later years (weather to eat or get medicine)
I myself have had open heart (about 6-7 years ago. Medicine to control it and also cholestrol medicine . Between us both we run a small Apothecary.
In my younger days I played trumpet and most of the brass family . Now I do a pretty good job playing the radio. I gave up playing when we first moved to Florida (picked up the horn every once in a while
and tried playing for my own amazement),finally gave to one of my grandchildren , she had a small interest in playing (but she is only 8 so
she DOES change her mind quickly like all children.
It's a swell day so far, temperature is 81 degrees and sunny. it has been a real slow huricane season for us this year.
Hope Your Doing Well,
Emery
